Principal Systems Engineer with experience in Unix/ Linux, Scripting and SQL, who has a passion and proven ability to design, implement and launch successful enterprise-level systems! Management of IT infrastructure and cloud environment.

Location: Dublin 2
Salary: Excellent depending on your experience plus Bonus of 10% based on company objectives paid just before Christmas, 21 days annual leave and additional day for every 2 days service capped at 26, Birthday off, New Yrs Eve off, CSR Day, Pension after 3 months (6.5%), Health – employees and 50% dependants, €300 vision, Dental plan, Life x4, long term disability, Training and development.

You will also receive regular reviews/ salary increases.

You will be designing and building an automated global cloud environment for an award winning company.

What you will be doing day to day:
Provide technical leadership for the Dublin Systems Engineering team
Analyse and troubleshoot issues with cloud product and environments
Deploy and upgrade development, test, lab and production systems
Participate in 24x7 on-call rota
Evaluate and test 3rd party vendor systems

Skills needed to be considered:
10+ years’ experience supporting networked systems
Excellent Operating Systems knowledge and experience – Unix power user / system administrator
Excellent scripting skills in at least one of the following Bash, Python, Perl
Solid understanding of Internet protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, etc.) and network technologies (routers, switchers, load balancers, firewalls, VPNs)
Must have experience with database concepts and implementation, excellent SQL skills.

Nice to have but not essential:
Previous experience using REST/SOAP APIs and web services
Experience with VMware would be a distinct advantage
Experience with wiki, Jira and test automation tools
Experience with agile software development methodology
Understanding and experience of JAVA/JEE very useful.
